Build for OSX Lion Target

Anyone built Micropython for OSX Lion? I am having a heck of a time getting Xcode/gcc/pkg-config/various dependencies to install or compile without error. I have done it all in Debian before and can put Debian in Parallels on this mac (New old 8 core Mac Pro). I want to do algorithm development on the Mac. (Later do data analysis on Macs and iPhones with NumPy, etc.)
