Here's an 8-channel lamp controller and lamp module. That's an ESP12e wifi/microcontroller module with an extra 8Kx8 serial eeprom, a PWM generator, e-fuse protected voltage main, two pushbuttons, and a Lesser Injection-Molded Polybutylene Guardian of Darkness. The lamp modules have 24 Cree 3500K 90CRI medium power ceramic body LEDs. I plan on mounting six or eight of those lamps on a three or four foot piece of aluminum/copper flat stock with some kind of decorative shade, and it bounces off the ceiling for the light.

Building and flashing v1.8.5 was no problem. The lamp modules are individually dimmable, so strobe and marquee effects are easy, and something like "occasional movement simulation" might be useful for security purposes. I've added ports for an ambient light sensor and a motion detector, so those make lots of entertaining possibilities.
