Re: Compatibility layer for Adafruit CircuitPython drivers on Micropython

Great move indeed, if it walks the whole mile ! Adafruit have invested hugely in CircuitPython, not only in the software itself but in its documentation and user support. Enough at least to give the impression that the original micropython has been stagnating in comparison (not being backed, of cour...

Re: Pyboard+Micropython questions

In the Adafruit space, the "Circuit Playground Express" (running CircuitPython) is currently top of the line (CPU and memory-wise). It's quite the gadget with a lot of stuff built-in, and IMHO the USB drive system is easier to use than the pyboard's for the coding process. It does have an unusual (r...

Could be interesting to see the new Circuit Playground Express + CircuitPython 2.1.0 in there too !

Re: Adafruit CPX (Circuit Playground Express)

Well yes, I certainly could, just like I painstakingly soldered a 2x4 keypad on the one I'm using now...
The beauty of the CPX is that I don't have to add anything to it for the same result :-)

Re: Adafruit CPX (Circuit Playground Express)

Not in my immediate plans, unfortunately... or maybe fortunately: knowing myself, I'd have to hire a 747 Jumbo to bring back all the stuff :-)

Re: Adafruit CPX (Circuit Playground Express)

So it's a toy, yes, but it already does the same thing my pyboard's been doing for over a year, and is capable of a lot more the pyboard alone couldn't. It's really no surprise at all. While the MicroPython team is busy developing the platform, making it stable, fixing the bugs and preparing for ne...

Re: Adafruit CPX (Circuit Playground Express)

The pyboard can be extremely flexible when you have a couple of microsd cards flying around - use them like Gameboy cartridges  It would work, yes... But *nine* "cartidges" would cost more that the board, swapping them would be only slightly less painful than the "change main.py" method, ....

Re: Adafruit CPX (Circuit Playground Express)

Hi everyone, and thanks for chiming in... I really understand the various points of view here and where they're coming from. Yes, the form factor is sort of "hipster"-like and makes it look like a toy. I usually don't go for "flashy" but this one's abilities were just irresistible. I'm not bothered ...
