Re: WS2812 led matrix with esp8266

Thanks for your reply. What irritates me is that a german Amazon customer writes that the numbering of the leds starts from the top or the bottom depending if its an even or uneven row. Will the neopixel library work with that? And what about the adafruit bitmapfont library linked above? Will it wor...

WS2812 led matrix with esp8266

Hello, I am thinking about my next micropython esp8266 project and would like to try some led matrix. Would this item work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Longruner-WS2812B-Digital-Flexible-Lighting/dp/B07KT1H481/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=neopixel+matrix&qid=1571316208&sr=8-1 I would like to use it for color ef...

Re: How to obtain a list of importable modules?

How do I get a list of available functions of a specific module? In another thread I read something about e.g. the ntptime module but didn't find anything in the documentation. So where do I get the information how to use modules and their functions which are not mentioned in the documentation? Than...

Re: Bosch BME280 driver

Well, your driver defaults to address 118 (0x76), so maybe try this: bme = bme280.BME280(i2c, address=119) Thank you so much, this did help me a lot. I changed your suggestion (that didn't work) bme = bme280.BME280(i2c, address=119) to bme = bme280.BME280(i2c=i2c, address=119) and it works. Thanks ...

Thanks for your reply.

Code: Select all

>>> import machine
>>> import bme280
>>> i2c = machine.I2C(scl=machine.Pin(5), sda=machine.Pin(4))
>>> i2c.scan()
[119]
Does this help?

Re: Bosch BME280 driver

I tried it again with micropython release 1.9.2 on my esp8266 What has changed is that >>> import machine >>> import bme280 seems to work correctly now. But I am very unsure about the correct I2C wiring. I have a BME280 for I2C and SPI from adafruit that has the following pinout: VIN, 3Vo, GND, SCK,...

Re: Bosch BME280 driver

I just noticed that there is 1.9 release for esp8266.
Will I have more success with it getting the BME280 to work?

Re: Bosch BME280 driver
I have modified the driver quite a bit for the ESP8266: https://github.com/catdog2/mpy_bme280_esp8266 The main goal was to make It less memory hungry, especially during import. Worked I think. I only tested it with a BMP280 as I don't possess a BME280 yet.
I use NodeMCU with...
