Re: BrainPad running MicroPython

I've added temperature sensor reading, fixed one of the LDR scripts and included a much cleaner Timer-based blink: https://github.com/scruss/brainpad-micropython Not sure if I have the calibration of the mcp9701a is quite right: seems to be reading rather high: from pyb import ADC,Pin from time impo...

Re: [WeAct STM32F411CEU6] Avoiding “Volume was not properly unmounted” warnings

Ah, thanks. I got it to rewrite the flash, and it starts, but the filesystem doesn't seem too happy. Like I said before, I may have accidentally destroyed the flash. Is there a flash checker script, or do I need to write/run my own?

Re: [WeAct STM32F411CEU6] Avoiding “Volume was not properly unmounted” warnings

Thanks for the guidance. Are you saying you didn't connect up LED and USRSW in your mpconfigboard.h file? Uh … maybe ? This board only has a single blue user LED, so the colour change to indicate status isn't going to happen. I also have more than a suspicion that running a ws2812 strip off SPI1_MOS...

Re: [WeAct STM32F411CEU6] Avoiding “Volume was not properly unmounted” warnings

Hmm - that's annoying. Especially since the flash on one of my F411 boards is in such a mess that Linux doesn't even see it as a filesystem any more, and there's no way of doing the safe mode reset on it.

Re: Double precision and CPU slowdown.

Assuming a spherical earth isn't tremendously accurate at the best of times: depending on the distances involved you could be 0.5% off the spheroidal distance. Proper spheroidal calculations are way outside what a microcontroller can do. If you're wanting to calculated arbitrary distances over the w...

[WeAct STM32F411CEU6] Avoiding “Volume was not properly unmounted” warnings

I'm really enjoying using MicroPython on these boards - thanks, mcauser, for the very clear definitions/instructions! One thing is not quite right: on resetting the board, the drive ejects without cleaning up writes. At best, I get Volume was not properly unmounted. Some data may be corrupt. Please ...

Re: Terminal S - a super simple serial terminal

Nice!

I tend to just use

Code: Select all

python3 -m serial.tools.miniterm
when I know I'm on a system that doesn't have minicom, c-kermit or screen on it.

FYI, OP has asked same question here: [url=https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=233367]Flashing MicroPython to ESP8266 using rPi - Testing if ubinascii.unhexlify exists ... - Raspberry Pi Forums[/url] From what they're posting there it seems that they haven't flashed the MicroPyth...
