Re: micropython stubs for linting

Hi Paul, sorry for the late response. I did see the typing module, but i do not see how that would help for this use case. As VSCode is running on the PC/Laptop, i would expect that a full pythin instance is available there to support the syntaxhighlighting and linting. are you suggesting that also ...

Re: MicroPython with VisualStudio Code

Hi , Ive been working on a solution to help with both code completion and linting for VSCode. It's still quite experimental, and requires some manual configuration but I am gently optimistic. https://github.com/Josverl/micropython-stubber The way it currently works is to - generate the subs on the M...

Re: ESPlorer fork with improved MicroPython support

Hi Quitty Thank you for the kind remark. I liked the benefits , but not the difficult work. ESPlorer's code base is not a work of art , it is fully undocumented and not written in line with java OO. Also there are a lot of old / unstable components used , which make simple things like find/replace i...

micropython stubs for linting

I'm using VScode to write MicroPython code. The linting and code completion is quite decent, but as there are quite a few differences between CPython and MicroPython, I think the linters could be better. Is there a way for pylint to : recognize the subset of classes / methods implemented versus CPyt...

Re: Windows development enviroment/IDE?

I currently use VSCode in combination with the PyMakr extension from pycomm. I find vscode a good and free editor that runs on just about any platform , and pymakr allows for file sync with the MCU over Serial,Telnet or Sockets (and should work with generic boards for version 1.0.4and up) vscode by ...

Re: How to get machine-readable MicroPython API for particular firmware variant?

If you run the below on the board and capture the output then you should be able to get the basics import sys sys.implementation.name sys.implementation.version sys.implementation sys.platform this will return something like: 'micropython' (1, 9, 3) 'esp32' (name='micropython', version=(1, 9, 3)) If...

ESPlorer fork with improved MicroPython support

Hello all, Over the last few weeks I have been adding new functionality to ESPlorer to make it work better with MicroPython boards. I plan to submit these as a PR to the main repo, in order to faciliate testing infrequent I'll host a beta release on my fork as well. I was inspired by a friend to loo...
