format the file system

I assumed that esptool erase_flash would erase my user files but it does not, and it appears that my file system is corrupted as when I list the root folder, there are dozens of lines with just a dot "." and no file name. Is there a way to erase or re-format the file system ?? When I list using ampy...

Re: esp.deepsleep() overflow

@jamesb - thanks so much, yes I am aware of that method as well, but I was wondering what the limitation with the more concise esp.deepsleep() was.

http server closing connection

Seem that I am pretty much the only person posting on this forum ?! I have a problem with my simple http server related to the size of the received request. The following is a code snippet of the bit that handles the request. Something strange is happening once the received packet hits 536 bytes, if...

RTC and Machine Frequency

I am curious, is the RTC clock affected when you change the machine frequency ?? Say for example that I run it permanently at 2x normal speed, with the RTC also run at twice speed ? And the RTC seems to be extremely inaccurate, I set a timeout of 1 hour and it was out by at least 4 minutes, can it r...

Re: Graphing barometer - storm Doris

Nice, what is the battery life using lipoly and what is the battery capacity.

I am also trying to decide on high capacity AA cels, or lipo / liion foi my project which will be deployed on the other side of the world !

How do you calibrate the RTC ??

esp.deepsleep() overflow

I am using the esp.deepsleep() function, works fine until I try and sleep for 1 hour or more.

This results in numeric overflow, what is the maximum sleep time that can be set using this method ??

Code: Select all

sleepsec = 3600 ## 1 HR
sleepus = sleepsec * 1000000
esp.deepsleep(sleepus)

Self Update via Socket

To save me re-inventing the wheel, does anyone have a code snippet that I can use to connect to a socket server and read a file line by line and save it locally ?? I am trying to create a self update app ?! Or would it be better for the server to serve a file line by line as requested by the client,...
