Re: unable to logon to the forum using my old username

I've tried multiple times to reset my password for user safetyfactorman. Not sure why this is failing. Anyone know how to make this happen? Do you receive the "New password activation" email? I just tested this and I was able to receive the email. I haven't tried actually doing the reset though. Wh...

Re: Using UART4 in PC10 and PC11 pins

But after the PCB was made we notice the USART3 in PC10 and PC11 besides the dedicated pins to uSD. And now I'm stucked with that problem. Can I use the pins PC10 and PC11 in UART mode? Sorry I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Yes, PC10 and PC11 can be set to alternate function for USART3 TX/RX...

Re: usb serial speed

So, what's the equivalent of CODE: SELECT ALL Serial.begin(57600); in microPython? On ESP32, I think this has to be done in firmware as UART(0) can't be accessed from Python. (Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong). Unfortunately means you'll have to build the firmware from source. I haven'...

Re: compiling for ESP32 UI like menuconfig

Hi all, I'm looking for a loboris like compiling environment/setup where we can select easily options for ESP32 firmware like we can do on old that not evolved for 2 years lobo one. I think Loboris did an excellent work making it easy for a user like me not very fluent on esp/idf toolchain and the ...

Re: How to exec py-file as a main.py replacement?

In Python, when you "import foo" it executes the contents of foo.py If you want to "re-import" it, you can "del" it from sys.modules first. So if I have foo.py: print("hello") then in main.py I can run for i in range(5): import foo del sys.modules['foo'] to run the contents of foo.py five times. Or ...

Re: BLE data - buffer.

Yes apeend is set to True, but there is one more thing. When I have the buffer set to len = 100, I will send a packet which has e.g. 80 bytes, then it will send another 80 bytes packet, I receive that 80 bytes will come, 20 from the next packet is added/append, and the rest of the second, i.e. 60, ...

Re: External C module in Pumbaa

Has anybody experience with including external C code in Pumbaa? I don't know much about Pumbaa. Can you described more about how you added your C module. In upstream MicroPython, the process is described here https://docs.micropython.org/en/latest/develop/cmodules.html although I suspect in order ...

Re: BLE data - buffer.

Should I use some sort of separator / delimiter? If so, what exactly? I'm assuming you're using the buffer mode on the characteristic. (i.e. append=True on https://docs.micropython.org/en/latest/library/ubluetooth.html#ubluetooth.BLE.gatts_set_buffer) What you're describing is a fundamental thing i...

Re: Accessing function arguments

Is this just a little bit beyond MP capability while maintaining a small package. Yeah, there are a lot of things that the runtime can't do in order to stay "micro". Functions do actually know a little bit about their number of arguments (positional and keyword) but it's handled differently dependi...

Re: Max current out of 3V3?

This statement needs some qualification. The spec says "capable of supplying up to 250mA, input voltage range 3.6V to 16V ". The 3V3 regulator is a linear device sourced from V+. If V+ is 5V then a current of 250mA looks feasible, with the regulator dissipating (5 - 3.3)*0.25 = 0.425W. At the other...
