Re: compiling native modules (ulab)

That would probably be a show-stopper. Someone has got ulab on an ESP8266 with virtually no RAM. In fact, that was, when I started to ponder native modules, but if the whole package has to run from RAM, then it is a bit of a predicament. Yeah at this stage (until we get some way to have a "scratch ...

The compile errors suggest that you don't have the submodules downloaded

Code: Select all

git submodule update --init lib/mbedtls lib/axtls

Re: urequests VS requests Issue

What's going on here is that in Python requests, when the "data" argument is a dictionary, then data = { ... } requests.post(url, data) Then it interprets data key/value pairs that are URL encoded, and any non-scalar values are then JSON encoded (and URL escaped). Here's teh corresponding request: P...

Re: compiling native modules (ulab)

and even worse, I am not sure I could decipher all the limitations properly. Yes, unfortunately this is quite a complicated feature and getting to the bottom of it requires quite a lot of understanding of how linking and loading and stuff works... On regular operating systems you almost never think...

Re: D32 PRO File System Size

Hopefully someone who knows more about ESP32 can reply but I think you need to build your own firmware and set the size of the VFS partition in partitions.csv. But I'm not sure if there are other considerations.

Re: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pyb'

You don't need to pip install the pyb module, it's included in the firmware.

Re: WeAct STM32F411CUE6 systick and timers

Not for SysTick directly (although the machine.Timer(-1) is based on SysTick). I know you're not using a pyboard, but the pyb module is available on all STM32 boards and includes ways to access the STM32 functionality such as timers (not all of this has been moved over to the machine module yet). ht...

Re: how to read/write files without ampy

Just to be sure -- if you run

Code: Select all

miniterm.py /dev/ttyUSB0 115200
(which you should have if you've installed pyserial)

then you're able to connect to the REPL?

Re: Minimal Build For Linux

I'm trying to build the minimal build for an embedded linux platform. Are you compiling on the embedded device, or on your main PC? Eventually I'll want to make a static library but for now just trying to get it to compile. FYI you might find https://github.com/micropython/micropython/pull/5964 int...
