Can main.py and REPL share any variables?

This may be a very simple question to those experienced: I have in my main.py import logger_setup.py that does all the initialization: main.py from logger_setup import * logger_setup.py import machine import uos import utime import network pin27=machine.Pin(27, machine.Pin.OUT) # Power pin for SDI-1...

Re: Connection fails to ESP32, with MicroPython 1.9.4 after uploading python code

If you need telnet, you can try loboris firmware, which is working pretty pretty well with telnet.

Re: Connection fails to ESP32, with MicroPython 1.9.4 after uploading python code

I don't understand your code. Unfortunately nobody else has responded. One thing I do remember seeing was along this line a while ago: don't add your code in boot.py. Add your code in main.py.

Can you re-flash your dev board?

AP mode and STA mode at the same time

I am using loboris firmware but my question applies to the official firmware as well. I want to set up a data logger with ESP32. Apparently if I set it up in AP mode and enable FTP server, I can use a computer to download data files off the logger. This is easy since the AP's IP address is always 19...

Re: Any resources to help me work collaborately with MicroPython's main team?

Great! I'll start working on these resources! Thanks a bunch! BTW, when someone wants to start writing Arduino libraries (in C/C++), I usually ask them to read the EEPROM library, which is short and has features in the plain that can be more easily understood (it's become more complex now but you ca...

Re: Set sd card mode and pins in official firmware

Thanks Peter. I decided to switch to Loboris firmware for its easy support of sd card. Long story short, I got it working after some struggle. Regarding SPI MicroPython module, is there any way to show properties such as baud rate or whether MSB or LSB was selected? There was only an init, which is ...

Recent issues with my board and a serial adapter

I got my own ESP32 board printed and assembled one myself. Everything is tested to work as of yesterday until the serial stops working. The board would boot into firmware flash mode all the time. The only thing I changed was that I added 30cm of jumper wires between my board and the FTDI adapter. I ...

Re: esptool cannot connect to HiLetgo® ESP-WROOM-32

Can you provide a link to the board you purchased? If nothing works, maybe we can look at the sales page and find a circuit diagram. Sometimes it could be the manufacturing wasn't perfect and you have a few disconnected pins. Does your board look good on closeup inspection?

Any resources to help me work collaborately with MicroPython's main team?

I'm experienced in C/C++ and just learned enough Python to make it useful. I'd like to expand the current hardware support such as adding some ADC, RTC, and other devices that I have no problem finding support from Arduino side of things. Some of these libraries that are open source could be ported ...
