Promoting Micropython with workshops and courses

answering @cefn question related to teaching Micropython feels like a new topic! Feel free to post comments against my approach, ask questions or just post what you have done. Apologies for the delay in responding @cefn, I have just started a series of workshops to introduce Micropython. This comes ...

Many thanks @pythoncoder @dylands, really clearly explained!

Rshell buffer size

I just taught a short practical micropython course this evening; we used Rshell to transfer files and enter the REPL. I love Rshell, it allows a really simple interface to boards running micropython. At the course somebody asked why are we defining the buffer size on starting and I wasn't sure. rshe...

Re: PyConAu Talk - any suggestions?

Great forum post. I was dismayed that PyCon at Portland appeared to have nothing covering Micropython this year... Well, there was a development board running it in the swag bag, a birds-of-feather meeting, and quite some coding done during the sprints. I wouldn't call that "nothing". Oh dear! Apol...

Re: PyConAu Talk - any suggestions?

Great forum post. I was dismayed that PyCon at Portland appeared to have nothing covering Micropython this year... From my (limited) interface with the Python community here in Perth, Australia I have been really surprised how low the awareness level of Micropython is. So I think there is still a pl...

Re: adhesive/insulation for electronics in soil

Also check out Rienier from Vinduino. Old school, tried and tested gypsum sensors.

Everything is open source hardware and software. Not Micropython, but the sensors are simple enough.

Re: A MicroPython logo?

I am running a free introductory course in Micropython in a few weeks time. I would really like to use the "M" MicroPython logo as the only branding on the slides but it seems nowhere to be found. Would George Robotics prefer me to use the current snake-on-a-chip logo in the GitHub repo? I seem to r...

Re: 'micropython projects' wiki as a resource

I sent a Private Message a while ago to the Global Moderators making a proposal for new Forum Category, I include it below as it has a similar drive (I think) to your request @carver You may have seen me hanging around the forum for several months, its a great resource. I am a very, very late starte...

reconnecting to boards running endless loops

A basic question that may have more to do with programing on microcontollers than Micropython specifically. I am using a ESP8266 WEMOS D1 mini using vanilla micropython. I have written a program that uses an endless loop of connecting to wifi -> reading a sensor -> publishing the sensor data by mqtt...
