How high voltage do you wnt to run? Check out the 5160 stepstick. Super cheap. And there is also the 5160 bob. If you dont have super high power check out trinamic 5161. 5161 have fets included.

What about using some Trinamic 5160 drivers over spi/uart? Instead of step/dir.

I been a super fan of Micropython ever since i manage to install it to an old esp8266(first version, "arduino wifi module") and blinked my first led 2-3 years ago. Is it possible to use a Micropython based Esp32 to flash another one? I guess the esptool is not a straight forward port to mp.

Just read Aws lambda now supports custom runtime. Havr not dived into it proper yet. Tought i asked here if anyone tought it could be done?
