Re: Pin Toggle Frequency Contest against C. Please Help! :)

Thanks Dave! That guy claims

Code: Select all

Auf dem STM32F407VG Discovery Board ausgeführt, bei 168MHz Taktfrequenz,
mit GCC und -Os kompiliert.
Mit dem Debugger "result" ausgelesen: 21000001
which is self explaining. If nobody stops me here I'm going to ask for (accountable) confirmation over there.

Re: Pin Toggle Frequency Contest against C. Please Help! :)

Am I understanding this correctly? The 21MHz toggle assertion isn't confirmed yet? Dave, have you got the setup to check that C-Program? Sorry, but I haven't.

... special aspects of the stm module and the @micropython.viper function decorator. Unfortunately, the micropython doc does not tell much about it. Is there any place for reading about these language elements? I eventually I found something over here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/214379695/...

viper 3c: 2,020,202
viper 3d: 6,700,168
Version 3d is only a factor 2 off Dave's assembler version.
Jawohl :D very clever approach.

Re: Pin Toggle Frequency Contest against C. Please Help! :)

You guys rock! I'm going to push Dave's first inline assembler version and Damien's viper version and, well, the other versions as well. Thanks, learning a lot (yet understanding only a fraction). Sidenote: In order not to hard fault the board (4 LEDs cycle on and off, reset pin recoverable) Dave's ...

Re: Ideas for next evolution of pyboard

A cheerful and serene New Year! Most has been said. I'd propagate a MicroPythonPico: Hardware Pico, unique, innovative form factor (yet sustainable = compatible w 1.x?) + Low, really loooohhh price (see below) + BLE (also not to interfere with wipy concept) + Bare bare bones (xept something neat + s...

Re: Consistent naming of Micro Python

Also prefer "MicroPython" because of aforementioned and beyond
- its in use in my docs
- its a bit more micro than "Micro Python" (or say a few bits ...)
- CamelCase is somehow associated with programming
but I'm neither defined nor is my opinion significant
