I am referencing this photo in the documentation: https://store.micropython.org/product/L ... 1.0#image7

In that photo, it appears five lines are connected. Is that sufficient to run the display? I will try to compare between the photo, the side pins and the ones on the bottom.

I am trying to decipher which pins are actually necessary to drive the display. I would like to use the minimal number of jumpers.

I recently received an lcd160cr mounted in one of the aluminum cases. The tutorial indicates jumpers connecting to the pyboard but it is not clear for my poor eyes. I don't want to fry my new display, what are the connections points for the side mounted headers.

Amazing what you can now purchase for less than $20. When I was teaching high school a calcbot was $100 and had far less capability. Adafruit is an excellent resource and their products are well supported. Their learning resources are updated frequently and their support for defective/damaged produc...

I prefer micropython/pyboard due to its polish and stability compared to circuitpython and/or pypi. I hope to stay with the original lib stream provided here. Hopefully all of this will be clarified soon.

In the alternative, I can always return to Microchip and CCS C.

Nice design. Similar to an hp in algebraic mode. I prefer rpn and already have a box full of hps.

You should look at surface mount to DIP adapters available at http://schmartboard.com/ Their boards have small channels or grooves that allow easy soldering of surface mount components that can then be used in through hole or breadboard application. Their adapters may make a more modern ARM chip use...

Pyboard 1.1 is my favorite board and IMHO opinion has the best support for micro python. Adafruit's CPX is targeted at the educational market.
