Re: Pico/micropython Switch callbacks

I'm afraid there is a lot wrong with that solution. Writing firmware (in any language) involves a significant learning curve. As a first step you should read this doc detailing the use of interrupts. Secondly, read - or at least take in the gist of - this which explains contact bounce, an issue with...

Re: Number of arguments for `micropython.schedule`

I don't know the technical reason, but other workrounds are to pass an object as the arg, or to pass a bound method as the function.

Re: Every time the device restarts, the random number is a fixed value

In my testing on ESP32 with current firmware, uos.urandom() is not deterministic after a power cycle.

Re: e-ink 2.13 demo not running unless connected to PC

Always worth a try but ePaper displays are usually very economical on power, even when updating.

Re: WIFI scanning - doesn't find 13 channel

I am not a lawyer. But my understanding of the regulations is that, to achieve approval in most countries, a WiFi device should be incapable of transmitting on unauthorised channels. Special factory programming can be used to customise devices for their intended jurisdiction. There are many devices ...

Re: MIcropython as MQTT broker

... I guess this one goes to @pythoncoder , having written micropython-mqtt that could be used for this. Writing a broker is a substantial task, emphatically not one I intend to undertake. I simply can't see a point to the exercise. I have an original Raspberry Pi V1 running mosquitto. It uses 5W o...

Re: Strange problems with SD card

Could there be electrical issues? The interface runs at 40MHz so lead lengths need to be kept very short. Another option might be to try different SD cards. There have been issues with certain types of card.

Re: Is MicroPython the right hammer for my nail?

@grodstein Coming late to this party I thought I'd throw in a couple of observations. Re commercial use. As someone who developed commercial firmware since 1975 I am certain that, had MicroPython and the hardware to support it existed, I would have used it. Not all commercial applications have produ...

Re: WIFI scanning - doesn't find 13 channel

My understanding is that channels 12 and 13 are not allowed in the USA. Equipment intended for sale there is supposed to be configured to disallow those channels, firstly to comply with the rules and secondly because, if set to use one of those channels it would be unable to communicate with other U...
