Re: Teensy 4.0 & 4.1

Thank you for reminding, Peter: this is indeed extremely helpful and makes mounting the boards file system to the PC unnecessary. As long as I used that, I wrecked my board's file system several times, even when taking care to "sync & wait" every after each file transfer.

Re: Teensy 4.0 & 4.1

Just two comments: Since you build the firmware yourself, you can simply use "make deploy" to start the firmware download process. And you can also mount the file system at /Flash by changing the mount instructions in modules/_boot.py, e.g. to: # _boot.py # Try to mount the filesystem, and format th...

Re: Teensy 4.0 & 4.1

alphaFred and me started to revive support for the MIMXRT MCU's, which is used in Teensy 4.0 and 4.1. We made some progress, but there is still a huge amount of work ahead, and that will take some time. The state we are in now is somewhat usable. It has a file system now, Pin, ADC, SoftI2C, SoftSPI,...

Re: Is it possible to deinit the watchdog (WDT)?

I have made some code for an ATTINY85 to act as watchdog. It can be set on-the-fly to longer or shorter watch times. It is meant more for the slow response.

Re: ESP32 OTA image shrinkage

If the btree module is still included: that one consumes about 20k.

Re: UART.any() needs an argument says Thonny REPL

You have to call uart.any() on the UART instance you have created, not the class. So you would have something like:

from machine import UART
uart=UART(1)
uart.any()

Re: I2C not working

It looks like a wiring problem. So either the pull-up resistors are missing, or the wires are swapped, or you forgot to connect GND, or the BMP280 is not powered, or the BMP280 is set to SPI mode. Most BMP280 breakout boards have pull-up resistors implemented. If not, add some. 4.7 kOhm is a good co...

Re: main.py never stops

Push Ctrl-C to stop main.py, and then remove or rename main.py
Once you ahev REPL back, type:

import uos
uos.rm("main.py")

or

import uos
uos.rename("main.py", "test.py")

Re: Flash firmware from esp8266 to esp8266 duplex rx tx

You might instead consider using a raspi zero for that purpose. At the similar price of a esp8266 module and full command line linux. That will run esptool.py.
