If I put 5V into VIN, is it safe to connect to a computer via USB?

Powering the Wipy
Re: Powering the Wipy
I have no expansion board, so I cannot test it, but..
according to the schematics, Vusb is connected to Vin through the power switch circuit TPS2115A. The purpose of that devices is to automatically switch between Vusb and Vbat, with lower voltage drop than a pair of diodes and protection features like current limiting. The data sheet of this device tells, that is supports reverse conduction blocking, meaning that if you connect 5V at Vin, neither Vusb nor Vbat are affected. The USB/Serial driver should be supplied by Vusb. So it should work, at least I would not expect that anything gets damaged.
