Early version of WiPy

Post by Bryan » Fri Jun 02, 2017 11:54 am

Hi,

I am one of the backer of Kickstarter camping. I left it after initial test as I guess the platform will be more mature. I only recently open it again and hoping to upgrade the firmware as mine is V1.0. However, I couldn't use firmware updater (connection failed) and also I can't use FileZilla (I could access the ftp using browser). Does any of you have problem with early version? It's really frustrating.

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi,

I can't really help you, as I don't have much experience with this particular board, but you might get much better and faster replies on the pycom's own support forums at https://forum.pycom.io/

I have one around and sometimes I use it, for example now. Comman line ftp should work, unless you use Windows. As FTP client I prefer FireFTP, which is a plug-in to FireFox. Much easier to use than FileZilla, which is a little bit harder to set properly:
Passive Mode
Single connection
User: micro
Password: python
If you manage that, you have to copy the firmware image to the sys directory, and once that is finished, reboot. For confirmation, I just downloaded the V1.9-19 from today's build, and that worked.

Hi,

Thanks for your time to follow my problem. Here is the message from FileZilla. I did follow the instruction of (http://docs.micropython.org/en/latest/w ... neral.html). It seems pretty straight forward but still couldn't get it right.

Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.1:23...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: Micro Python v1.4.6-21-gff736d6 on 2015-09-27; WiPy with CC3200
Error: Could not connect to server

Thanks,

The ftp port is 21, not 23.
