Will 1N4001 or 1N914 work?

Post by YOYO » Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:37 am

I am in the process of doing my retro with e55 bi xenons, and because I'm on an h4 system, I want to make sure the low beam doesn't cut out when the high beam is activated, thus I'm connecting them with a diode.
I was looking for 1N4005 diode as has been listed in most diagrams. I wasn't able to find that particular one. The ones I found were 1N4001 & 1N914(https://www.kynix.com/components/1N914- ... tures.html). 1N4001 is listed as being 50V.1A and I can't exactly figure out the numbers on the other ones.
Anyways will 1N4001 work instead of 1N4005?
Thanks!

Both diodes may have a way too low current figure. What is the expected current? 55./12 ~ 4.5A?

And your micropython problem is ???
A few hours of debugging might save you from minutes of reading the documentation! :D
