Split Other Boards into port specific forums?

Post by mcauser » Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:44 am

Hi Forum Admins,

Is it time to split Other Boards forum into a few port specific forums?
STM32, NRF, PIC, SAMD etc?
So it more closely matches ports in the MicroPython repo?

I think it makes sense to create new sub-forums for ports, but only as they see interest/use. The nrf port is a good candidate to start with.

In my opinion we also need more moderation because there are countless posts in "General" about esp32 or esp8266 but they belong to the port specific forum.
So if there will be new port specific forums, it should be made sure the posts end up where they belong to otherwise there's no encouragement to post in the correct forum if "General" is good enough and nobody complains about it.
