No, but there is some ongoing work to make it possible to write python programs using blocks in the Mu editor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCZEKtNHx5k

Too bad that the folks at Micro:Bit have not spun the Blockly/Scratch like language environment to the public domain so that it could be picked up by the ESP8266 community as their board tend to be a lot more capable than the micro:bit board. There is a Blockly-Duino offering that has been ported to the Arduino w/ESP8266 Core development environment, called TUNIOT and available as a free to use cloud based IDE at the "www.easycoding.tn" website. Their implementation takes the basic BlocklyDuino concept and ports it to ESP-8266 and then provides several sets of additional code blocks to allow you to write WiFi AP, client and server applications, making ESP8266 IoT applications easy enough to consider offering course at the middle school or upper elementary school level. But, this is a "C" programming environment, not a MicroPython one. Would be nice to see a Blockly-to-MicroPython edition offering much the same capabilities as TUNIOT as a bridge language from a graphic-block oriented language (like Scratch and Blockly) to a more traditional text oriented language like MicroPython-ESP8266.

The mu-editor shown in that video above is open source *and* has experimental support for esp8266. Recently, the author got contracted to make the support for board other than micro:bit better and to generally improve the editor -- so I expect it should be pretty good soon.

Perhaps instead of complaining about no free lunch you could lend a hand too.
