I'm not sure I have the necessary skills to undertake it.
Neither do I, though perhaps it's possible to learn (looking at the code of rshell my python skills are a bit lacking). Right now I am busy preparing for my class which starts in January. Micropython has much going for it and I hope will prove to be good in the long run, but the ESP32 port(s) are not yet as polished as the pyboard (just ran into another problem with incorrect file mtime timestamps on the firmware I am using).

The ESP32 port

Post by pythoncoder » Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:46 am

The ESP32 port is declared as "experimental" and is quite new. At a similar point in its development the ESP8266 port was flaky. I have every confidence that the ESP32 port will rapidly be improved. But improvement is reliant on us as users creating test cases and raising issues.

The Pyboard is a model of stability.
