Thanks for clarifying this Paul. It is certainly more convenient to use webrepl while being connected to the internet. Even though it's not "officially supported", I found it very useable and had no issues with file transfers, apart from the LmacRxBlk:1 bug that was mentioned above. Also congrats on the 1.8 release! Perhaps would be worth opening a new thread, or does that mark the end of alpha thread series? :)
. But you're right that it's start of the new era: as many issues as possible reported for the early release series were fixed, which didn't, should be documented as known issues. So, let me close this thread.
