Hi..i am new user here. The ESSP8285 works great with the ESP8266 software. I removed the Eprom and ESP8266 from a ESP201 board and replaced the 8266 with an 8285. Using Arduino 1.6.5 and upgrading to esp8266 Boards Manager Version 2.3.0, and selecting "Generic ESP8285 Module" in the Boards Manager, I could run a LED blinking program by just recompiling.

Hi LulaNord,

well that sounds interesting and has a value on its own but it does not tell us anything about Micropython on the ESP8285 ;)

Wemos.cc are releasing a new ESP8285 board sometime next week. They are calling it the "D1 Mini Lite".
Details are a little sketchy. I presume it is going to be a similar form factor as the breadboard friendly D1 Mini.

Edit: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/produc ... 57574.html
$3 USD - same form factor as the D1 Mini and D1 Mini Pro
