Official support for the psf-a85 (esp8285) board?

Post by beyonlo » Wed Sep 21, 2016 5:47 am

Hi all.

What do you think to add the board psf-a85 to official support board list?
It is just $2.10, so it is cheaper and has two extra gpio pins compared with esp8266.

Thank you.

The esp8285 chip is not yet supported. There has been reports of getting micropython to work with it, but without the WiFi.

I would not call it "a board" but just "a module". Just like the other form-factors you can by the ESP8266 in.

I’m pretty sure I did have WiFi (enough to run the WebREPL at least, in AP mode I believe) when I tried it on the Pesky Products ESP8285 development board. I haven’t tried a PSF-A85 module though.

Ah, I'm sorry, from the error messages at http://forum.micropython.org/viewtopic. ... 285#p13339 I assumed that the AP didn't get set up properly. I don't know how I got from this to the conclusion that the wifi will need some work... In any case, that's great.
