I thought at that price (£2.60) how can i go wrong?
The issue is my seller isn't offering much tech support.
How do i determine the size of the flash on my new board when it arrives?

Do you have a link to the board?
Flash is typically 512 KB to 4 MB. But don‘t worry, even 512 KB are enough for starting.

If you can see a close-up photo of the board from the product listing (and assuming the photo matches what they're sending you), you might be able to read the label on the flash chip. e.g. this one from wikipedia has a 25Q80ASSIG. The "80" is 8 Mib (e.g. 1MiB).
