@marcidy I have tried what you said and it still had the same problem. I think it is a browser problem either the HTML file I am using has something wrong with it or the browser that I am using is having problems. I have tried both firefox and crome.

I have also raised an issue on github here https://github.com/micropython/webrepl/issues/68 about getting webrepl to be maintained during soft reboot, hopefully this is the correct place that the devs will notice it.

@JDRBoston yes I think your right that it is a web browser problem, I will chase that rabbit down the hole. I am using windows and safari doesn't seem available for windows anymore

I was (am) frustrated by the FireFox defaulting to https and not giving an easy way to defeat that, at least for the 'safe' micropython.org site. Because Safari isn't available, give SeaMonkey a try. It's open source, works for Windows and Linux, as well as the Mac, and has helped me in other work. Let me know whether it solves the https problem. Thanks J
