CEC protocol support from MicroPython?

Post by Jibun no kage » Sun Aug 14, 2022 7:30 pm

CEC protocol support from MicroPython? I know, this is has to be an example of 'bridge to far' pun intended. But in the middle of breakfast burrito this morning, the thought occurred. Does any microcontroller... cough... other than as Raspberry Pi, which is a computer not a microcontroller IMHO... have CEC support or a way to emulate it? I don't recall seeing a microcontroller haveng HDMI let alone CEC support, right? Maybe if some microcontroller had USB (data) support, you could kludge a LightPulse USB adapter driver to get CEC support?

Is this some sort of stream of consciousness poem?

CEC is like a very slow I2C without clock signal, and the specification seems to be available so should be possible.
But if no one has done it before you will need to read the available documentation and do it yourself.
