esptool.py version / installation

Hello to all of you here.

I am new to (micro)python and i just installed esptool (from command prompt, run as admin) which went faiirly well,
There was the mentioning version being 4.2.1, the update command was run as (as mentioned right after the install by the install program).

this update did not work, when i ran esptool.py version (or any other esptool.py ommand for that matter) i get the error msg.:
'esptool.py' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
i ran it again in the terminal command prompt.!

when i run: python -m esptool, i get a bunch load.. but it starts with version 4.2.1. mentioning.

so esptool seem to be installed, but i can't seem to "use"/"verify" it.

any thoughts?

Hi,

Could you please post some screenshots or copy in the exact commands you ran?

I'm not quite sure if there is a problem though, v4.2.1 is the latest version.
