I2S firmware support for the WiPy

Hi has I2S firmware support for the WiPy been implemented?
If not, is there an alternative to adding I2S support?

Bryan Morrissey (@blmorris) did some work on I2S on the Pyboard nearly two years ago including developing an I2S DAC shield but alas the firmware support was never completed. It almost worked. As far as I know nobody has taken this up on any platform.
