Micropython is not commonly used in industry. But I think gradually it will be. With the advancement of new libraries and hardware Micropython will finally make its way to the industrial sector. Many IOT based devices are being made which are based on micropython. Earlier, I was seeing this one:

The board and its open-source software package provide everything you need to quickly get started programming using Python and MicroPython. Network programming projects can be done by this board too. I really think this type of board should be developed more and more if we really wanna use micropython significantly in industries.
