Newbie question

Post by ethall » Tue Apr 23, 2019 5:05 am

Hi there

Totally newbie question here... Sorry if that is not OK, then please point me in the right direction.

Why does the D-series have a software download that does not boldly state the version on the download page, does it get timely updates and the same updates as the traditional pyboards, do people use it, or was I wrong to get it as my first board? ..

The Pyboard D is quite new so the firmware is the latest daily build. Despite it being a new design it has been thoroughly tested. I have had two for a while and they work well and it has many other users. Normal Python code runs perfectly.

However I would recommend updating the firmware periodically as inevitably bugs will be found, reported and fixed, and improvements such as bluetooth support will be implemented.
