Name of our mascot?

Post by kfricke » Fri May 08, 2015 9:51 am

Does that MicroPython mascot have a name? This is not only an important, but essential question to keep it alive ;)

@pfalcon: I hope this is the correct place for this topic, at least this is regarding more the development of (the masot) than the development with it (general vs development forum)!

I'm sorry, but it is not ;-). Mascots, their nicknames, etc. has very little to do with development. Besides pure amusement, they're supposedly have to do with community building, and then please post such topics to General forum for wider exposure (moved there).

I try to keep "Development" forum with clearly development topics, so (not so many) folks who come with real development questions and ideas, could find useful things in it.

Greetings, the name of the mascot must be 'regius'. Regius, yes.

Python Regius is the smallest species of pythons found in Africa, sometimes called the 'ball' python or the 'royal' python in the pet trade. She is a true micro python; gentle and powerful. I sometimes think of her as 'small and powerful'.

Also Regius by her very name implies royal distinction and honor.

I submit, Regius is her name.

regards,
Cheers,

regards,
"Regy", the queen of pythons (there must be an 'y' in the name IMO!)

Technically,
Antaresia perthensis is the smallest breed of python
It belongs to the Genus Antaresia and can be found in Australia.
Its trivial name is Pygmy python ( German „Zwergpython“) or „Ant-hill python“ (German „Ameisenhügelpython“).
Pygmy is indeed a very nice name since many python classes start with py* as well.
It can be an acronym as well

PYthon Goes Microcontroller Yeahhh!!!

ok the yeahhh might need some rework. ;)
the my also pronounces like the greek my for micro....
Thus, this fits on several levels

Greetings
