Ha Ha Ha. I am certainly finding it hard to resist the urge to buy 1 and have a play with it, as it looks super interesting and RPi is usually very well supported fro beginners.

My other life (the real one) has been busy with running my business and home renos that I haven't touched any electronics stuff since I competed in my last robotics comp 3 months ago. I am super keen to play with electronics again.

It's also worth looking at the PR; there are some useful PIO examples there (including controlling WS2812B's).
The first thing that come to my mind when I read about the PIO was RGB LEDs
