continuous servo motor goes CCW only

Post by hobyr » Sun Feb 14, 2021 4:56 pm

Hello everyone,

I bought a continuous servo motor (FS90R) and wanted to make it turn in both directions using the speed function.
With a positive argument, the motor goes CCW.

Now, I calibrated it using the values from the datasheet, and if I try send the speed function with an argument < 0, it just stops instead of going CW. If I use the pulse_width function, I can make it spin CW.

I'm also powering it from a usb port from my laptop (powering the pyboard and the motor), one person on the forum recommended not to use USB power to power the servos.

What am I doing wrong? Is it a power issue or the way I coded/calibrated the motor?

Thanks for your answers:)
