Raspberry Pi microcontroller boards
i2c read fails with OSError 5
RP2040 based microcontroller boards running MicroPython.
Target audience: MicroPython users with an RP2040 boards.
This does not include conventional Linux-based Raspberry Pi boards.

And circuitpython has a fix to the Pico SDK:
https://github.com/adafruit/pico-sdk/pull/2
Maybe it will propagated over?
