Pyboard not visible to Mac

The official pyboard running MicroPython.
This is the reference design and main target board for MicroPython.
You can buy one at the store.

Pyboard not visible to Mac

"Mac: Your pyboard will appear on the desktop as a removable disc. It will probably be called “NONAME”. Click on it to open the pyboard folder."
When the pyboard is connected the green led flashes but it does not appear on the desktop. Please advise.

Discovered the issue. I was using a USB cable that physically fit but was only wired to charge a battery pack. Hope this helps someone else.
