Unable to save main.py with Windows 10 OS

Post by xinwen91 » Wed May 02, 2018 10:09 am

Hi, currently I would need to have a PC replacement due to company rules. Interestingly, in Windows 7, I am able to modify main.py and save it (with Notepad ++). Interestingly, I am unable to do so with a Windows 10 PC. It keeps saying "The file cannot be saved and it may be protected. Do you want to launch Notepadd++ in Admin mode?"

Can somebody please help to advise how this can be solved? Thanks!

I have no trouble with Windows 10. Are you on a company domain with IT department policies enforced. I found a site where write to USB was blocked to prevent IP theft.

Does write to a thumb drive work?

Hi Christmas9, seems like this is the issue. Let me check with my IT department. Thanks for your reminder. :)
