3V3 regulator on pyboard

Post by smhodge » Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:14 pm

I am trying to identify the 3V3 regulator on the pyboard v1.1. The schematic (dated 16/10/2015) lists it as a MCP1703, but I can't find a chip on the board with the correct markings in the data sheet for the MCP1703. Was the regulator changed from that on the schematic? Thanks.

It's an 8 pin part. Mine has the markings:

Code: Select all

AAY
423
*KJ
The MCP1703 datahseet says AAY means 3.3V. The 423 is a year/week code and the KJ is a traceability code. If you hold your pyboard 1.1 with the USB connector facing up, then the 3.3 regulator is t the bottom right corner of the 405 (i.e. close to X5)

Got it, thanks. I got thrown off because I got the data sheet from a Mouser link, which does not list the DFN package. The link from Digi-Key does show it. The Digi-key link is dated 2011, the Mouser one is dated 2007.
