Google Season of Docs 2021: Welcome Niti

Post by jimmo » Mon May 17, 2021 12:13 pm

As you may know, the MicroPython project applied to be an Organisation for Google's Season of Docs this year and was fortunate enough to be accepted! This means that Google will provide funding to assign a Technical Writer to the project in order to help improve the quality of the documentation.

After evaluating many strong applicant proposals, a Tech Writer has been selected: please let me introduce Niti Kaur! Niti will focus on updating some of the MicroPython port documentation and will be engaged with the project until mid-October. Having just joined the Slack channel and begun getting involved in Github, please make Niti feel welcome and help out where possible, particularly with reviews for documentation PR's.

(Posting to the announcements/news forum on behalf of @mattyt who is the mentor for this project)

Maybe someone should allow GitHub actions for him. In https://github.com/micropython/micropython/pull/7239 is a statement reading
first-time contributors need a maintainer to approve running workflows. Learn more.
A few hours of debugging might save you from minutes of reading the documentation! :D
