MicroPython has now more than 3000 stars and recently reached 100th contributor in Github's counting (and Github uses peculiar way of counting - there're actually more than 100 people contributed code and patches to uPy): https://github.com/micropython/micropython
Well, all that makes MicroPython quite a massive project. Even something called CPython has only 1633 stars now: https://github.com/python/cpython (well, that's a cheating, as they only recently migrated to Github ).

Forks should be evaluated for activity, then counted if any )
