SIM800L 3G ??

Post by devnull » Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:13 pm

I cannot seem to get a definite confirmation on whether the SIM800L is 3G Compatible.

https://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/SIM800L-GPR ... B#shpCntId

This says:

Quad Band 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz

But I can't seem to translate this into whether it is 2G only or 2G/3G - can someone tell me definitively ?

2G was phased out in Singapore last year, and now only 3G / 4G is supported.

Thanks so much for confirming that, do you happen to know of any low cost modules that are 3G compatible ?

You can also use SIM5300E, it is pin compatible with SIM900/SIM800, with lower pin count and some reletivelly low priced development boards.

SIM7000E is another pin compatible Tri-Band LTE-FDD and Dual-Band GPRS/EDGE module, supporting LTE CAT-M1(eMTC) and NB-IoT.
