uPyCraft : hope to connect internet and try again.

Post by ricogte » Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:41 am

Hello,
I use esptool or uPyCraft to burn a firmware that I already have in bin file on my computer. And it works well.
A while ago, (when I was less gifted;) ), I used the uPyCraft function to choose the firmware: that is to say that uPyCarft would download the last updated firmware, and after burn it.
I'm trying to get uPyCraft to work again this way, but it seems to be unable to connect to the internet ?! :
"hope to connect internet and try again."
I have uPyCraft V1.1. I also use uPyCraftV1.0 with the same result :(
I then checked my windows10 firewall, and my inbound traffic rules are activated.
If you've ever had this problem, or have an idea?
Thanks to the community!

Thanks Jimmo,

However, I think this problem is independent of my other post.

Indeed, no matter which board I use, now, uPyCraft cannot automatically find the firmware on the internet.

My point in the other post was that I get the impression that dfrobot aren't actively maintaining their MicroPython fork or their uPyCraft IDE, so it's likely that their auto-updater has broken and they haven't fixed it. But yeah, this is something you'll need to raise with them (either directly or on their forum)

Yes I understand the answer for DFRobots cards.

Here, I'm talking about all the cards (and therefore the other cards), like ESP8266MOD D1 mini (https://docs.wemos.cc/en/latest/d1/d1_mini.html) or the ESP32-Wroom (https: //www.amazon.fr/Espressif-DevKitC-V4-ESP3 ... B07G7BZPMM).

No matter which board I use, uPyCraft cannot automatically find the firmware on the internet.

I think I just understood something :o . Do you mean that the uPyCraft tool was developed by DFRobots and is maintained by them?

So, If that's right, my discussion can be closed.

Thank you

Hi there,

Just for information, techsupport@dfrobot.com (uPyCraft) say, the 28 avril 2020 :
"the software stopped maintenance"
